Compilation of Colorado

For no particular reason, I have avoided blogging lately. It is crazy how quickly the time can slip through my fingers like grains of sand. Three months have passed and we have a few things to show for it.

In case you weren't aware, it is cold in Colorado during the winter. While I think that the temperature outside should never drop below 80, Colorado has thoughts of its own about the weather. Dry skin with multiple applications of lotion and Chapstick are not all that Colorado has to offer in the winter. Justin built his first ever snowman!   Since the temperature didn't reach above 5 degrees for two weeks after we built it, it lasted quite some time.

We have had some excellent visits with friends while we have been here. We were able to meet up with a now Owner/Operator and his wife Abby that we got to be with in Ohio and Texas, It was so good catching up with them and laughing about all the times this program literally made us act insane. It is so nice to be able to sit down and talk to someone who can actually relate to your ridiculous life. We all laughed so hard that I am pretty sure we cried!

Some of my long time family friends were working in Denver last month, so we were also able to meet with them for dinner. While we are all from Houston, we all ended up just outside of Denver for temporary work. It was so nice getting to hear about all the things they are doing and that their kids are doing as well.

We also get to have lunch with Justin's cousin and her husband. She is in the Navy and was relocating for her new station assignment. Their drive brought them right through Colorado. It was nice to get to see family so far away from home.

We have really been enjoying the church that we have been attending here. We are visiting the Niwot campus of Rocky Mountaion Christian Church. After for attending few a few weeks we learned that several of the people on staff graduated from Ozark Christian College, where Justin attended, and a few of their wives graduated from Missouri Southern State University like me. Along with connecting with some of the people from that church, we were also able to volunteer for the Night to Shine. It is such a spectacular event sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation. A Night to Shine, is a night for people with special needs to come and celebrate, dance, and be crowned as King and Queen.
My partner was on absolute doll. We had so much fun dancing, playing with all the balloons, taking pictures, and of course enjoying all the delicious food!Justin even got to dance with his partner to a Garth Brooks song, his night was totally made! He was excited that his partner liked Garth so much too.

Justin was able to get permission from his consultant to travel home for the weekend to celebrate with our family and be surprised with the gender of our baby. The weekend was a whirlwind! We had so much fun celebrating and we can't wait for the arrival our little girl, Lila Brooks.

As we start our last month in Colorado, we have a full house of CFA corporate workers. There are a total of three IMs and Market Consultant. We spent last Sunday evening hanging out by the grill at the hotel and celebrating Mark's 46th birthday. It is so nice to have a small community here to hang out and enjoy. Plus, there is so much to learn and take away from each of the people we are with.

We have enjoyed this compilation of Colorado activities.
